The second quarter at Sundyne has been very rewarding. As previously reported, we have been aggressively utilizing the United Technologies Corporation Achieving Competitive Excellence™ (ACE) program to move our company “from good to great”. The ACE program formalizes our efficiency standards and business operations worldwide to improve customer satisfaction, employee engagement and profitability. With that, I am proud to announce two very important and recent milestones.
First, after achieving measured gains in quality production, I’d like to congratulate the employees of Sundyne for attaining our ACE Silver re-certification. Sundyne Arvada now joins Sundyne HMD/Kontro in the U.K. facility in attaining Silver status. We continue to proudly promote our engineering expertise, world class manufacturing capabilities and capacity for innovation across all of our global business units. Next stop – ACE Gold! Continuous improvement is key to our long-term success and increasing customer satisfaction.
Second, in following with our growth strategy and our quest to invest in our future, we announced on July 31 the acquisition of Grupo Industrial Ercole Marelli S.A. of Spain (Illescas, Toledo). Marelli Pumps and Systems is a 43 year-old market leader in the design and manufacture of heavy duty centrifugal pumps. They complement the Sundyne product portfolio with multiple configurations, specialties and broad applications with offerings in two distinct markets; General Process Industries (API610) and Water Engineering.
Benefits of the acquisition include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Complementary to our commitment to customer for life
- Represents a growing business opportunity for all Sundyne stakeholders
- Enhanced certifications and standards(like API610, 10th edition / ISO 13709) brings a distinct competitive advantage
- Product diversification provides protection from cyclical market churn
The addition of Marelli Pumps and their dedicated workforce in Spain will accelerate the innovation of precision-engineered solutions by combining two strong companies with ONE common vision -- GLOBAL STRENGTH, powered by people.

With the addition of Sundyne Marelli pumps, the future is bright for our customers, channel partners, suppliers and employees.
